I need help with the book I'm writing?
I only have a setting so far, and no plot. I thought up something that actually makes sense, which is a huge step for me. (Actually I DID have a bit of help on Y!A for the apocalypse part, but still..I DID think of the concept!) This is what I have so far, but I need a plot. I won’t steal it from you - I wouldn’t do that. I know I have to come up with something of my own as a writer, but I just need some inspiration.

This is the setting. The novel’s protagonist WILL be a girl who’s about 16 years old, and I want their to be some romance. This is my first try at science fiction since I usually write romance/comedy/young adult novels, so I need some help. I was thinking about exploring how her friends go through severe denial, bipolarity, Schizophrenia etc. and things like that, but I don’t know. Help?

Setting:
In 2020, the world is at the edge of a nuclear war with the Soviets. Bombs accidentally get blown up on both sides, wiping out most of Asia and the Americas. The bombs disrupt the oceans, flooding Africa and Australia. And with the population bountifully decreasing, no one is able to function properly. People from third world countries are swimming in the ocean and coming to England, basically the only safe place, which spreads many diseases to Europe. The world has now gone into a post-scarcity period, and nothing is functioning as it used to. There are only 98 people left in the world now because of the above tribulations of the world, and they are ALL struggling to survive.

First: Read "Gone" by Michael Grant. It will give you wonderful inspiration for your setting idea.

After that, set yourself free. Write. You don’t have to start from the beginning of your story, you can start from any part.

I do so love your idea. One thing you ought to be careful of is the bane of fiction-writing existence: Mary-Sues. A Mary-Sue is a "perfect" character. In other words, a character (usually female) that is somewhat at an advantage (due to magic, smarts, or otherwise) despite their troubled past; they often fall in love with the "cute guy", the male you know your readers will fall in love with regardless of his position in the story. I’m not implicating that your character is a Mary-Sue, but…Considering that your protagonist is 16, female, and will probably be involved in romantic situations, you should keep a wary eye out. Just a word of caution.

Idea for the denial, bipolar, schizophrenia thing…: Perhaps the protagonist has a best, true friend who they’ve known their whole life. And then, when the bombs hit and only 98 people remain, the friend starts becoming somewhat schizophrenic… "The voices tell me to do this!" -(s)he could say. Perhaps the protagonist tries to help her, but fails in some way. This would add a good dynamic to your novel. The readers would become attached to the characters by use of this or a similar sub-plot line.

Ah, I watched it a couple of months ago, if I remember correctly it’s just to show how mindless and un-observant people are to things they don’t want to see.

Wasn’t a line spoken about living in a burning house? Or she said something like "what about the fire", and then was told not to worry about it..so she just ignored it and it just kept getting bigger and bigger like problems in the real world people just ignore.

I enjoyed the movie, but didn’t understand a thing when it was over. Very mind blowing.

What to do with collection account?
I had a delinquent account in 2004 (past due was $549 & balance was $4000 total w/late fees, over limit charges). It went to a collections company and I worked out a payment plan with them. I have since cleaned up my act, have been paying all of my debt and successfully raised my score over 120 points in the last few years. The original account is on my credit report as delinquent and closed as a charge off. The collection account is not on the report. There was a time when I was attempting to set up payments that one of their reps was horribly rude, yelling at me, and in turn, through another representative, I was able to set up a plan with zero percent rates, so my payments go straight towards the balance. Now, in the next few years, I plan on buying a home. Should I just continue to let the collection withdraw my monthly payment electronically (as it is set up) or call them and try to settle for a pay off? Originally, the balance with the collections was over $5000 and now it is at $2000. Morally, I feel I have paid my debt for what I charged and then some; the over-limit charges and late fees of course are another story. My main goal here is for it to have the least effect on my score. I have gone to buying everything with cash but I know my score will be a huge factor when buying a home. Thanks in advance.

I think the best way to make the "I ran away from a man I thought I loved" hair look, put your hair up in a fancy up-doo and then run your hands through it a couple times so some strands hang down.

You got alot o’ hair just like me! Well… I honestly have no good ideas. But be sure to wear lots of blush so you look all flushed. And dirty up your dress. Have your whole hair falling off to the side and maybe even wet down the pieces near your forehead (sweat… i know its not pretty. Hey! Its halloween!) Look real disoriented the whole night, wide eyes mouth a little open, looking from side to side. Good luck!!

Louisiana has New Orleans (and more), Mississippi has Vicksburg (many civil war monuments and antebellum homes/tours), Alabama has Mobile and more, Georgia has Atlanta and North Georgia Mountains. There is Charleston, South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, too much to list. The South has the best food and the friendliest people. We welcome you wherever you decide to visit. My suggestion would be to go on the Antebellum home tours in Natchez and Vicksburg, Mississippi usually taking place in March/April.

Very weird dream last night…?
It was so weird and I’m kinda embarrassed by it, but fascinated at the same time. Basically, a couple of weeks ago I gave blood which has a connection to this dream. After I gave blood they told me that if I become sick in the next four weeks I have to contact them so they don’t give the blood to anyone or use it in any experiments.
So, then I had this dream last night in which I received a phone call from the blood donation clinic. They asked me to come in because they thought my blood was contaminated. I went in and they brought my into this room in which they took a pen and tried to "insert" it (if you know what I mean) without permission. In the dream I was asking them what the hell they were doing and that I didn’t think this was right, but the nurses were adamant that it was the correct thing to do. The whole atmosphere of the dream was as if I was being subject to some sort of weird experiment. It was very odd and when I woke up in the morning, I wrote it all down immediately.

Just wondering what does all this mean? It was very unlike any dream I’ve had before. Usually my dreams involve my friends and family in different situations.
